An artist's impression - reproduced above - of what the Lewes County Boy's Grammar School Chapel will look like when it is built has attracted considerable attention at the summer exhibition of the Royal Academy. It has also been the subject of a good deal of favourable comment.

The picture, in water-colour, brings out in its perspective and its mellow tints, two of the principle charms of Sir Edward Maufe's design. The cream walls and grey tiled roof have been chosen to harmonise with the chalk country which forms the distant background to the chapel. Grace is added to the building by the proportions of the campanile. The whole effect is one of distinction obtained within a small compass. It is intended to start building shortly.
